Welcome to the Week 5 game log!
Carolina Panthers
Week 1, Baker Mayfield was supposed to show Cleveland what a huge mistake they made. And while I do think Cleveland made a huge mistake, that mistake wasn’t shipping Mayfield off to Carolina. His five starts this year have gone terribly, and while Matt Rhule wasn’t fired solely on Mayfields performance, it sure didn’t help. This week Baker even was injured, played through it, only to be benched at the end of the game. Carolina is a solid bet every week, to the surprise of no one.
Dallas Cowboys
While Baker Mayfield has done terribly, Cooper Rush, starting in place of an injured Dak Prescott, has been doing phenomenally well. So well, in fact, it has a lot of people wondering why they would even bring Dak back as starter. However, talk in the locker room is that there’s no doubt that Dak Prescott will be back once he’s healthy, and after Cooper’s showing on Sunday, it probably makes that decision a little easier. Sure, the Cowboys came away with the win, but under 100 passing yards, no touchdowns, and a couple loose balls, Cowboys owners see a good week finally out of Cooper Rush.
NFL Officials
Let’s pour one out for the American Football of yesteryear, where the Quarterback could be tackled without fear of a roughing the passer penalty. First, the Brady, and then the Carr call, what are defenses supposed to do? It’s true that the NFL is a show about quarterbacks, hell, it’s why the BQBL works so well; but it’s still football. Maybe they should worry less about wishy-washy judgment calls, and more about keeping players with obvious neurological damage off the field.
That will do it for this week. Score detail, as usual, is at THE LINK. Be sure to follow us on Twitter for league news and updates. Until next week!
