Chicago Bears

Let’s start things off by talking about Da Bears. From Peter Bukowski on Twitter, Justin Fields’ 297 pass yards through the first 3 weeks is the lowest total from a starting QB since the merger. Even with the Bears winning games, it’s great to have a QB that is used/trusted so little that you still see great returns in the BQBL. The only downside to these close games? The potential for game winning drives, but how many of those could Justin Fields pull off, anyway? It’s going to be a good year for Chicago Bears owners.

New York Jets

Don’t let the BQBL standings fool you: the New York Jets are still trash. With the exception of the week 2 debacle against the team-that-shall-not-be-named giving up a game winning drive, Joe Flacco has been consistently bad. Week 3 against Cincinnati was finally the week Jets owners were looking for with Flacco throwing zero touchdowns, no passes over 25 yards, and turning over the ball 4 times.

San Francisco 49ers

Jimmy G stepped up as the starter in San Fran this week with Trey Lance out for the season. Now that I think of it, “stepped back” is probably more appropriate. While both QB’s struggled in this game against Denver, Jimmy managed to step out of bounds in the end zone in the third quarter, giving us our first safety of the BQBL season. The silver lining of that safety? The pass he subsequently threw would have been a pick six.
